Past Research Projects
2004 - 2005: I've worked as a Research Assistant
with Henry Chesbrough on IP Management practices and on the analysis of
markets for technologies.
Summer 2003: I've worked as a Research Assistant for the In-Sat Lab at the Sant'Anna
School, and for the European Union Institute at Berkeley, on various
projects dealing with innovation transfer, innovation and regional policy.
January 2003 - May 2003:
I've assisted Professor D.M. Mowery and his research team at the Haas School
of business on projects dealing with technology management and knowledge
creation and patenting in the US universities.

2002 – January
2003:
I took part to the data collection, analysis and results presentation of a
project, sponsored by the State of Georgia (CyberGeorgia), the European
Union (Network Activities for Regional Innovation), and the City of Pisa
(High Tech Firms Observatory). The goal of the project was the definition
and international comparison of local policies for the promotion of
high-tech based development.
June 2002
– September 2002: I designed and launched an online research observatory, whose goal is to inform researchers and managers of private industrial
labs, about the latest developments in the innovation management theory. The
project was sponsored by the FIAT Research Centre (Turin – Italy), and it
was
supervised by the Link Research Center of the Sant’Anna School, Pisa-Italy.
August
2002 – December 2002: I took
part to an IRPET project, for the Region Tuscany, aimed at the study and
international comparison of evaluative methodologies, applied to policies,
which are sponsored through the EU Structural Funds.
May 2002
– September 2002: I
was
involved in an external consultancy for the definition of the business plan
and the commercial lunch of a new product, for an Italian firm working in
the IT distribution sector.
September
2001 – February 2002: I collaborated at the design and analysis of a
questionnaire aimed at the evaluation of the socioeconomic impact of a
subsidized distribution of Internet in the City of LaGrange (GA). The study
received a grant by NSF.
May 2001
– December 2001: I took part at the Yamacraw project, sponsored by the State
of Georgia, with a study, whose goal was the definition and comparison of
ICT clusters in the United States.
January
2001 – April 2001: I collaborated at the analysis of a set of case studies
and at the presentation of the results of an evaluative study, commissioned
to Georgia Tech, by the Japanese Ministry of Industry. The policy evaluated
was supporting innovation and technological transfer in research intensive
industrial sectors.
September
2001 – December 2001: I served as an external consultant for the Italian
Ministry of Economy. I worked on a project for the definition of the
strategic goals and tasks of a new Office for Organizational Innovation.
September
2001 – December 2001: I coordinated the data collection and the application
of a model for the management and exploitation of research project in an
industrial research centre. The project was under the scientific supervision
of the Center for Organizational Innovation of the Sant’Anna School of
Advanced Studies, and it was sponsored by the Telecom Italia Research Center
(TiLab).
July 2001
– October 2001: I worked at the re-definition of the research project
management at Telecom Italia Lab and I helped the staff in the participation
and analysis of the GROCOR initiative (international benchmarking among
research centres in the telecommunication sector)
